~This text is in english only, as I'm no good in german.I hope that doesn't hurt![br]
~I'm planning to do valve stem seal job on my Mercedes (1983 280SE)this weekend,[br]
~as I have no experience in changing valve seals on a twin-cam engine, I hoped that I could get some advice here, or a few pointers or hint's on my forthcomming job.I've dismanteled many Ford engines, earlier, and in 1996-98 I did a complete restoration of a 1970 w114 230 6syl. ( /8) I completely dismanteled the car into every last little piece, and put it back together again. The same goes for the engine, all new bushings and seals and etc.[br]
~I have the english Haynes manual on the 2.8L twin-cam so I'm sure it will work out fine.[br]
~But anyway, I have a few questions:[br]
~1.Do I need any " very special" tools for the job or do any of you recomend any?[br]
~2.Is it correct with the following torques for the cylinder head?[br]
~ Hexagon-bolts (unbraco) 41Nm__71Nm__wait 10min.__110Nm..[br]
~ Double hex-bolts (12-star) 41Nm__70Nm__10min.__+90 degree..__+90degrees..[br]
~That's what the Haynes manual said!?[br]
~3.Any special things "NOT TO DO" !!! (or genral does and dont's)[br]
~Please E-mail me at my adress too not only this page![br]
~Thanks for any tips on the subject[br]
